Cat Stevens


Cat Stevens was another famous cat of the 70s. Except this cat is a human being, songwriter and singer. Now known as Yusuf Islam, Cat Stevens as he'll be known to most ppl was born Steven Georgiou in 1948. Starting in the late 60s he went on to sell over 60 million records.

His most famous album was Teaser and the Firecat and there was a children's book of the same name based on the album. In 1977 as his career was hitting a high, he converted to Islam and gave up singing.

Morris the Cat

A famous cat from the 70s was finicky morris who like another 70s Icon Mikey hated everything. Morris hated anything put in front of him steak, dead mice, tuna, catnip you name it he hated it. Everything except for 9Lives gourmet catfood.

This pretentious little snobby tabby was voiced by John Erwin who did voice over work in the cartoon He Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Morris was in the Movie Shamus with Burt Reynolds and Diane Cannon in 1973.

He has also done spokesman work for responsible pet ownership and three books are claimed to be written by him.
